Boy or Girl Labradoodle Puppy?

We get asked all the time what we recommend when it comes to getting a boy or a girl Australian Labradoodle. We’ve raised and trained both boys and girls. A lot of them! We also have always had both boys and girls that either live with us or spend time here for breeding purposes.

We have almost 20 years of experience with the Australian Labradoodle breed exclusively. We have spent countless hours with both boys and girls, puppies and adults. Our opinion? They are BOTH fantastic! Labradoodles are smart, love to learn, love their families, enjoy cuddling, playing fetch, going for walks and being happy, friendly and outgoing. This is the case, whether it is a boy or girl Labradoodle.

We have placed many boys and girls in wonderful forever homes over the years and the feedback we have received is incredible. Families tell us that our Labradoodles are the best dogs they have had, even for lifelong dog owners. Guess what? That feedback is the same for both boys and girls!

So don't let gender be the biggest factor when adding an Australian Labradoodle puppy to your family. Focus on the way your puppy is being raised and finding the right match for your family regardless of gender!

    Kona

Kona is almost 3. We had never owned a boy dog before and actually were a little skeptical. He is the best dog ever! Lots of energy but so sweet. He loves everyone, especially children and cats. He’s the best snuggler in the world. My husband won’t leave him and we can’t wait to get home to him after work. Our apprehension about a male dog was completely unfounded. We couldn’t love him more.Susan Long Cash

    Charlie

Charlie is our almost 3 yr old dog child - and he's the best boy dog we could have ever dreamed of! He's calm and friendly and loves to say hello to everyone! My favorite thing he does is lay on the ground on his side whenever he meets a puppy or very old dog - we think he is just so wise! ❤️❤️❤️

    Bogey

Bogey, I believe he was from one of your first litters, as he is almost 10. To say he is the best, in an understatement. I love male dogs and would not hesitate to bring one into your home.Michelle Suchand Mcpherson

    Gibbs

This is my boy doodle bug, Gibbs! He is the most adorable, cuddly, precious boy! I could not be more in love with him. He was house broken by 4 months, he is smart and has learned quickly. I had a female lab before him, and I think they have been comparably stubborn—but ultimately know that I’m the boss. He sleeps with me every night and is an excellent watch dog. So friendly, but knows when to be watchful. He has never been aggressive—but can play a little too roughly with the cats. But he’s only 18 months old. It will get better! Especially when I get him a furry doodle sibling hopefully in the not too distant future ❤️🐶

    Cooper

Our handsome boy Cooper! He’s 1 year old and about 32 lbs. He’s the sweetest cuddle bug ever! Got him as a companion for our daughter who is six. He adores her and loves to play play play!

    Fozzy

We first got our Nina from you guys 8 years ago. Two years later we decided to get her a companion because Koa, my daughter’s lab had been with us and was leaving to go with mom and we were afraid she’d be lonesome. We asked you guys if we should get another female or a male. You told us that females could be standoffish (which Nina was) and a male could be a love bug....you convinced us and we got Fozzie. He is a love bug and more. He acts tough but is actually a teddy bear (Fozzie Bear is his name!) He’ll bark ton notify us of something, but then hide behind us while we check. He loves us to death!!! He plays a lot with Nina-they each instigate it at different times. When my husband is away he tries to convince me he is the alpha-going as far as jumping on my husband’s side of the bed if he is absent (neither of the dogs sleeps on our bed....normally!!) I couldn’t be more pleased with Fozzie (and Nina!)

    Alfie

We deliberately chose a boy after doing a lot of research and asking our friends! Alfie just turned one and is very much like my human boy kids—he’s goofy and sweet and curious and very, very affectionate. I haven’t noticed any difference in energy level between Alfie and the female puppies we’ve had in the past, and he doesn’t mark or destroy anything. All in all, we think he’s just the perfect dog—to the point where we’d love to get him a brother in a year or two!

    Duke

Duke was the most amazing dog I could have ever asked for ❤️ He had the most amazing temperament and LOVED people (and food) so much. He was so much fun and was super easy to train too!!!! Thank you so much for giving me my best friend in the world, I seriously couldn’t have found a better dog or breeder.

    Finn

Our Finn is 4 years old and 22lbs. He’s a sweetie. He’s best friends with our cat, he loves his stuffed toys, and adores the whole family. I find that male pets are more cuddly and devoted.
